This lil info-graphic hits close to home. Turks was the destination for our honeymoon. They did leave a few statistics off like crime and government corruption. Showing the island on a globe would help orient the viewer as well. It’s closer than you think. Let’s go back!

STIKNORD

An Amazing Blog of Scandinavian culture and inspiration.

In an attempt to define the aesthetic essence of the Nordic countries and Scandinavia in particular we as Industrial Designers often find ourselves trying to define and understand the distinct feel and spirit surrounding us in our everyday lives. As Danish Designers we feel obligated to follow the traditions of former great Scandinavian designers and architects by grasping the soul of our native country and channel it through our work.

Inspiration: An Indoor Picnic Table Created With Real Grass

If you live in a big city like I do, you probably don’t get to go on very many cozy picnics in the park. I love going on picnics, it’s one of my favorite things to do, although it’s been a few years since I’ve had the chance to go on one. Where I live, in Atlanta, there is actually more wildlife outside than most big cities, like NYC. However, there still isn’t much space to take a real picnic without having to drive a little while.

When I first saw this table design, I knew I had to share it with you. This is called the picNYC Table. It’s designed for people who want a picnic experience without having to sit on the ground outside, but for me, I see a way for people in big cities to still be able to experience a picnic at home.

It was created by Haiko Cornelissen Architecten, and it’s covered in real grass, dirt and water draining stones. According to the designer, “Suddenly spilling water becomes a necessity instead of a problem.” That’s right, since the grass is real, this table requires attention, kind of like a garden. The real question is, would you leave this table on the porch or bring it inside? I think I would do a little of both! #want
